Taiji is a form of movement exercise, originating in a place now called China, consisting of a series of postures and the smooth transitions between them. It is often described as a marital art and is a solid compliment to fighting arts, but, like yoga, can be considered within a broader context, a system of physical, mental and spiritual health.
• Good for body because it massages the organs and stimulates the channels that flow between the organs. This leads to better health from the inside out.
• Good for the mind because it is practiced with directed vision that stimulates the brain and helps to establish new and positive neural paths.
• Good for the human because, with body and mind tuned, you are free to focus on what is important to you, free from days characterized by swings between the needs of the body and the desires of the mind.
